About this ebook

What happens when the zombie apocalypse turns out to be a zombie aberration?

Three years have passed since the rising of the undead, and life has more or less returned to normal.

Zombie encounters are now few and far between. The undead are more of a nuisance than a menace; they are less likely to sink their teeth into unsuspecting civilians than they are to be attacked by vigilantes and rabid lynch mobs.

Laws have been passed for the zombies’ own protection, and they are safely and humanely quarantined from society.

Dead Rite, an undead management and control firm, suddenly finds itself on the brink of bankruptcy. The zombie population is dwindling and the bills are piling up.

So when a lucrative opportunity unexpectedly presents itself, it seems almost too good to be true.

A tale of misfits, weirdos, outcasts, alcoholics, trust fund activists, dead-head hippies, sleazy politicians and psychotic hillbillies; all foot soldiers fighting in the war on horror.

This book is not a post-apocalyptic story as I thought it was. Apparently zombies are not even dangerous but just docile creatures... WHAT!? According to this book heart disease killed more people in a year than the zombie virus. "A hamburger was statistically more dangerous than a zombie," is a line I actually laughed at. The story does improve around chapter 10 or 15 but the numerous grammatical errors really took away from the story. I was left rereading things to figure out what the author meant. I will say though that it was entertaining enough I will read book 2 to see what the outcome to this books ending is.

Lacks finesse, but is readable. Interesting setting and a few well crafted scenes. Attempts humor with sporadic success. The most amusing part may be unintentional. Goes back and forth stating how ignorant fear of zombies is and how many people are being zombified. He places the blame for being turned into zombies on the victims for things like being home alone or living in an isolated town. Despite calling antizombie people bigots, he shows zombie hatred to be perfectly reasonable. Genius if intentional.

I invested hours to see the story unraveled. Nathan Allen has mostly (4/5, B-rating) entertained me with his The War On Horror : Tales From A Post-Zombie Society. The reason the author is not getting a 5* is because, the thrill is not there yet, but the purposedly anger that the characters convey really did. Therefore, I will only see the book (especially a Zombie book) as a significant success when the thrills were there. It is a good read, though. I wish you only the best from Malaysia, Nathan Allen.👍😄
