Chris self-published his stories after no publisher would pick them up and over a 21-year career sold 600,000 books, won a YABBA and provided a generation of good boys and girls with rip-roaring, belly-aching, stop-it-I-actuallycannot- breathe laughs. The books were iconic in the 1990s, with the plain black cover standing out on shelves. There was huge publicity surrounding the unprecedented success of the Naughty Stories. Chris took the books on the road, visiting schools all over Australia, and as a seasoned performer is invited back year after year. He has even taken the book to the UK!
