About this ebook

Wouldn’t you love to abolish the IRS . . .Keep all the money in your paycheck . . .Pay taxes on what you spend, not what you earn . . .And eliminate all the fraud, hassle, and waste of our current system?

Then the FairTax is for you.

In the face of the outlandish American tax burden, talk-radio firebrand Neal Boortz and Congressman John Linder are leading the charge to phase out our current, unfair system and enact the FairTax Plan-replacing the federal income tax and withholding system with a simple 23 percent retail sales tax. This dramatic revision of the current system, which would eliminate the reviled IRS, has already caught fire in the American heartland, with more than 600,000 taxpayers signing on in support of the plan.

As Boortz and Linder reveal in this first book on the FairTax, this radical but eminently sensible plan would end the annual national nightmare of filing income tax returns, while at the same time enlarging the federal tax base by collecting sales tax from every retail consumer in the country. The FairTax, they argue, would transform the fearsome bureaucracy of the IRS into a more transparent, accountable—and equitable—tax collection system. Endorsed by scores of leading economists—and supported by a huge and growing grassroots movement—the FairTax Plan could revolutionize the way America pays for itself.

See page 148, for one example. "The federal government itself will be a major taxpayer" Oh really? Yes, according to Fairtax own tax tables, the government pays about a trillion dollars in taxes. Taxes on what? Taxes on war spending, taxes on pensions and military wages. City county and states have to pay taxes too. It's a sad commentary on our education system that anyone was fooled by this balderdash nonsense for ten minutes. They should teach our children about the deceptions and hustles through history, this would be one of them. We need a new tax code, we don't need hucksters and

This book is brilliant. The Fairtax JUST MAKES SENSE!!! I read the book from cover to cover on a plane ride from CA to NC and upon finishing it was so pumped up to do everything I could to help ensure the passage of the bill. My question is, why hasn't it been passed already? In times as difficult as we are in now economically it makes sense to try to revolutionize the system. I'm shocked that there are still people against this idea and I'm convinced it's because they haven't read this book. For a book about taxes (let's face it, an absolutely boring topic) it kept my attention and I just simply couldn't put it down. A must read for anyone worried about the future of America!

Wouldn't you rather pay 23% of what you spent than 30% or more of what you made? It can work ppl!
