Cassettes are the most unloved of music formats. They oxidise. They snap. They get chewed up by their own players. They don't take very kindly to being stored in damp lofts.
And yet, I've got hundreds of the little blighters. So when I started to migrate my music collection from musty loft to (proposed) music room earlier this year I thought it might be fun to listen to some of them again. And that's exactly what I did. For six months the only music I listened to in my car was via the unloved medium of cassette. And, for the sake of posterity, I wrote about the experience. From The Lilac Time to The Pale Fountains, Sparks to Art Garfunkel, Jonathan Richman to Prince, Kraftwerk to Boney M, De la Soul to The Dickies, here's what happened.......
