About the author

The author Nekita Lamour grew up in an environment where she heard stories from her parents, grandmother, and other extended family members in Haiti. As an educator, she had made story telling part of her Language Arts and English Language Learning curriculum. Ms. Lamour also tells stories in literary and cultural events in the Boston area. She holds a Master's in Education from the University of Massachusetts in Boston and a Master's in Theological Studies from the Weston Jesuit School of Theology (formerly in Cambridge, MA and now merged with Boston College). Ms. Lamour is a writer and essayist who had published articles in academic settings such as Lesly University (formerly Lesley College). Her columns had been featured in newspaper outlets in the Boston area. Ms. Lamour also makes substantial on line contributions.
