About this eBook

Is there such a thing as being too perfect?

Dylan’s a genius when it comes to engineering and his bank account proves it. But he’s failing in the one area of his life that matters the most. He wants to remarry and has already waited twenty years to do it. Now he’s finally found the perfect woman, but marrying again is the last thing Dr. Sydney Hawking wants to do.

Sydney can’t believe that her dating membership—aka, her divorce gift from her friends—has brought such crazy chaos into her already chaotic life. And it only took one date with Dr. Dylan Maxwell to know she was jumping back in too soon. Yes, her divorce is now final. Yes, her ex-husband remarried the day after. The intelligent thing would be to quit the agency before Dylan gets any more ideas about her being his perfect match.

Topics: romance over 40, romance over 50, mature characters, humorous romance, romantic comedy, later in life romance, enemies to lovers, friends to lovers

Dr. Bates, one of the founders of The Perfect Date, definitely has her work cut out for her in trying to find a match for Dr. Dylan Maxwell. Dylan is a super genius who doesn't always get the social nuances that normal people do. He is blunt and to the point and doesn't have a filter on what he says. His rating with her agency isn't very high, but she cannot get him to withdraw his membership. Sydney is recently divorced, and her friends have decided to give her a membership to The Perfect Date in order to get her back out into dating world. Sydney has several degrees and a Nobel Prize nomination, plus a secret hobby. When Dr. Bates hands Sydney all of the guys who are interested in dating her, Sydney adds a couple of filters, and the list is dwindled down to Dr. Maxwell. After being forewarned about what to possible expect, Sydney agrees to a dinner date and that is when the fun begins. Things get even wilder when you add in their kids, her quirky girlfriends, his sister, his drivers and Dylan's love for dogs. Some parts of this story were like being at a tennis match and other parts were pure laugh out loud craziness. I really enjoyed reading this story and would love to read love stories for some of the side characters. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Definitely a 5 star read for me. I read this book in one sitting. Another winner for the series about the 4o year old and above crowd. I liked both Dylan and Sydney. Even with the firm knowledge there would be a second date, I could not fathom how Sydney and Dylan were going to recover from that awkward, cringe inducing first date. And then they did. I enjoyed their banter. The snark, the sarcasm, the witty comments, and the absolute clueless attitude (that was so much a part of Dylan's character), served to make them truly endearing. Dylan and Sydney were so different, yet at the same time, alike in many ways. It seemed like they found so much happiness in being together, however reluctantly Sydney wanted to embrace that fact, I couldn't help smiling. This was such a feel good book. I found myself either smiling or laughing out loud. I would absolutely recommend this book. Especially if you need something to uplift your mood. I voluntarily read and reviewed the Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
