About the author

Mary T. Grassetti, Ed.D., is an associate professor in the College of Education at Framingham State University in Massachusetts. Dr.Grassetti teaches mathematics and science methods courses in the early childhood and elementary teacher education programs and supervises student teachers in the field. Her research focuses on mathematics teacher education, technology and education and motherhood and education. Her work has appeared in the educational journal Perspectives and the Journal of the Motherhood Initiative for Research and Community Involvement. She co-authored a book chapter in Drew Polly's (Ed) Common Core Mathematics Standards and Implementing Digital Technologies. Dr. Grassetti is a reviewer for numerous journals within the field of education and currently serves as president of the New England Educational Research Organization.

Julia Zoino-Jeannetti is an Associate Professor in the College of Education at Framingham State University in Framingham, Massachusetts. Dr. Zoino-Jeannetti holds a Ph.D. and M.Ed. from Boston College and a B.A. from Wellesley College. She teaches in the undergraduate and graduate programs in the areas of foundations of education, philosophy of education, and pre-service teacher education, and mentors teacher candidates in their practicum and pre-practicum field experiences. Dr. Zoino-Jeannetti's research focuses on adult and community-based learning, pre-service teacher education and foundations of education, and has published in these areas in the following journals and books: Our Bodies, Ourselves: The Embodiment of Women’s Literacy; Educational Studies; The Historical Journal of Massachusetts; The Journal of Educational and Psychological Consultation; and the Women's Studies International Forum. Dr. Zoino-Jeannetti is a reviewer and advisory board member of several professional and community organizations, including the New England Educational Research Organization.
