About this ebook

Major Cobus Claassens commands a team of 150 mercenaries contracted to bring stability to the war-torn West African country of Sierra Leone. Battling overwhelming odds, Cobus and his men train and fight alongside a small contingent of soldiers against a murderous band of 15,000 rebel fighters bent on genocide.

No amount of soldiering has prepared the men for the vicious arena of butchery, treachery and mounting political pressure they experience while trying to do what is just.

What difference does winning make - if they lose their humanity in the process?

Joking aside - an intriguing look at the way the most infamous mercenary company in history...won a brutal war with the enemy only to lose the final battle with the international community.

About the author

In the early 1990s, the small West African country of Sierra Leone was a gruesome war zone. Over 15,000 rebels roamed the countryside raping, pillaging and brutally murdering everyone in their path. The under-trained and unmotivated Sierra Leone Army was powerless to stop them. As
the rebels advanced towards the country’s capital, the world held its collective breath... Genocide was imminent.

In a desperate attempt to save hundreds of thousands of innocent lives, the government hired the infamous private military company, Executive Outcomes, to quell the tide of blood.

Cobus Claassens and his team of 150 mercenaries fought a brutal battle against butchery in Africa and unwittingly faced a foe they were far less prepared for; the manipulations of back room bureaucrats in Geneva and London.

Based on an incredible true story, Executive Outcomes is both a politically charged drama and an intense action adventure reminding us that in war, truth is the first casualty.
