Cluster analysis provides a statistical means of dividing data into different groups. Clustering as a process and the clustering results can be represented graphically in various ways. After a general introduction on graphics as a means of communication and the distinction of graphs and graphics, this paper discusses various types of graphics used for visualizing hierarchical clustering: from simple trees over dendrograms to multidimensional scaling plots. For each plot, the source code is given in the appendix, which also includes data tables.
