About this ebook

On the surface, my new boyfriend is a stiff, buttoned-up architect. He plans every detail of his life while carefully maintaining the walls he’s built around his heart. But when the biggest project of his career pulls him away, Clay’s solution is both temporary and unconventional. It even comes with a name—Travis.

This handsome stranger is sweet and thoughtful. He’s only meant to be a stand-in, to fulfill my needs under Clay’s watchful direction, yet these two men couldn’t be more different. The one thing they share? Well, I guess that would be me.

One gets off on my pain, the other on my pleasure, and it awakens a desire none of us knew existed. But it can’t last.

Eventually I’ll have to choose.

And it’s going to destroy us all.

This architect can draft plans for me too! 4 stars The writing and story flowed, yet when I was finished with this book I realized that I liked this book but didn’t love it like I normally do with this author’s books. I will attempt to tell you why. This was an interesting and entertaining look at a MFM/throuple relationship and how Clay, Lilith and Travis’ story unfolded. I immediately liked Lilith, because she had a curious nature and went after what she wanted. As much as I liked jumping right into the action, so to speak, I felt like I needed more build up and tension between Clay and Lilith. When Clay has to go out of town for work, he asked Travis to be his stand-in with his scenes with Lilith. Yes, I mean scenes, because Clay was a dominant and in the BDSM community along with Travis. Don’t worry, Lilith was into it, and it “awakened something in her” which I appreciated. Their “unconventional arrangement” and sexy times were hot and wild, and the architect Clay can draft plans for me too like he did for Lilith! I did realize at 50% that I didn’t feel like there had been any getting to know you or falling in love, just sexy times. Don’t get me wrong, I love sexy times, but I do want the falling in love element too. I also realized I wasn’t as emotionally invested or attached to these characters, and again that was because I didn’t feel like I knew much about them. The one dramatic point in the story made me a little bit emotional, but that was the only time that happened. Since I cared enough about these characters, enjoyed the story, liked not loved this story plus my history of loving this author’s work, I decided to give this 4 stars. I requested and received a copy of this ebook for my honest review that I am voluntarily leaving.

Nikki Sloane turned up the heat impossibly high in The Architect till it was a blazing inferno consuming my heart and soul. In true Nikki Sloane style, The Architect brings out the dirtiest fantasies of the characters. And it's definitely one of the hottest reads of 2021. When Lilith found her shy neighbour Clay standing at her door, soaked in rain and asking for help about a cat; she didn't know she is going to get lost in this incredible haze of pleasure and pain with him. But Clay has to travel a lot for his job as an architect. So enters Mr. E aka Travis. The handsome man supposed to be his standby while Clay dominates Lilith's body and mind from distance. These three hearts are getting entangled breaking all the rules and something has to end.If you are in mood for something obscenely sexy and sinful, The Architect by Nikki Sloane is the perfect read for you. I reviewed an early copy voluntarily

I thought this book was incredible. Scorching heat, powerful emotions and a raw genuineness make this read one that will engage your mind, raise your temperature and sneak into your heart. The kink flows freely in this story and the scenes are super steamy. I am very open to and read many books that feature BDSM elements and I thought that this was one of the best, simply due to the strength of the storyline, the complexity of the characters and the realistic feel to the tension, turmoil and discord that was brought on by their evolving feelings and relationship. I found it very easy to like Lilith and Travis but to be honest, Clay was a bit of a struggle for me. He was a very challenging character to get to know and connect with. In the end though I did warm up to him once he opened up. Just a really excellent book. This is my unsolicited, unbiased review.
