The Inheritance is the first book in The Lost Bride Trilogy and is shaping up to be another winning trio by Nora Roberts. This book follows Sonya McTavish who inherits a house in Maine from an unknown relative. She moves in only to discover that she has inherited a haunted mansion, one that she shares with several ghosts, mostly friendly. However,lying in wait is an evil specter with a murderous past who will stop at nothing to continue her deadly quest of revenge. Nora Roberts is one of my go-to authors for reading entertainment. As an author, she offers books and series in several genres: romance, romantic suspense, and under the J. D. Robb pen name, her "... in Death" books. A prolific writer, the quality of Ms. Roberts' writing has only gotten better (if that's possible). If I had to choose my favorite Nora Roberts book, I'd have to say ... all of them! 5 stars

I have been a long-time fan of Nora Roberts. And she has done it again! Wow!! The book has twists and turns, the build-up to the love interest. I'm so happy that this is going to be a trilogy! The story is left on a cliffhanger, and I am IMPATIENTLY waiting for the next book!! That's the downside of being a fan because the 3rd book won't be out till next November, probably. I would say that Cleo needs better dialogue in conversation with Sonya because some of what she said didn't flow and took me out of the story. Nora Roberts, if you're reading this, please have your book signings again at your bookstore!!

I loved this book. I couldn't wait to get some quiet time to read it. While reading, there were moments I laughed and there were moments I was creeped out but I couldn't stop turning the pages. I wanted more so much more, even sacrificing some of my sleep, lol. I can not wait for the next one for so many reasons. One obvious reason is to find out how and why the manor is haunted in the first place. Secondly, to see how Sonya and Trey's relationship evolves and how Collin may have really died if that's explained. The love that bloomed in this story was heartwarming and refreshing. The deaths that occurred in the manor for over a century is quite unsettling. Thank you for this story. I'm enjoying curling up with a good book again.
