About this eBook

"Twisty, grisly, genre-bending and immersive, Not Even Bones will grab you by the throat and drag you along as it gleefully tramples all of your expectations." —Sara Holland, New York Times best-selling author of Everless Dexter meets This Savage Song in this dark fantasy about a girl who sells magical body parts on the black market—until she’s betrayed.

Nita doesn’t murder supernatural beings and sell their body parts on the internet—her mother does that. Nita just dissects the bodies after they’ve been “acquired.” Until her mom brings home a live specimen and Nita decides she wants out; dissecting a scared teenage boy is a step too far. But when she decides to save her mother’s victim, she ends up sold in his place—because Nita herself isn’t exactly “human.” She has the ability to alter her biology, a talent that is priceless on the black market. Now on the other side of the bars, if she wants to escape, Nita must ask herself if she’s willing to become the worst kind of monster.

Having written characters much like this myself, I love it! Great if you enjoy edgy plots/characters, or whump... I'd call it dark romance? And it doesn't waste don't on romance when it doesn't need to - seeing who the characters become (together) under pressure was a delight! I appreciate the lack of focus on sex, and the stories of the main characters coming into their own once free of the older, more powerful parental figures in their lives - something I can relate to. Plus, always nice to see ace rep! You don't have to fondle or f- or write bad smut for your characters to be in love!

Fascinating and luring experience, that describes (in a fictional way) the world we live in and the constant dispute between right and wrong; even though it is fiction, it is extremely relatable, and it shows how people can have more than a definite trail in their personality, and as the same time not. Please give this book a chance, is totally worth it. Also excellent work in latinamerican floklore.

I'm surprised this book came highly recommended by others. Very little world-building, low character development and growth, and lack of a coherent plot. I have no emotional investment in any character and cannot justify buying the next books. Mixed in random 'woke' ideologies to be current, but failed to tie those to anything relevant in the story.
