About this eBook

A Cinderella inspired historical romance

When hearts seek out their perfect fit, love transforms us all

Kitty Boxford isn’t the sort of girl that gets invited to the ball of the century, but she has other plans to find herself a husband. The very serious but oh-so handsome Marquess of Ellsworth needs an assistant for his observatory, and it’s the perfect opportunity to earn the money she needs to hatch her husband-hunting plan. What isn’t in her plans is to fall in love with a Duke-in-waiting...someone as out of reach as the stars.

For Colin Middleton, Lord Ellsworth, his scientific endeavors have been the distraction for his broken heart, not the bevy of ladies his marriage-minded parents have invited for a grand ball. When a gamekeeper’s daughter demands the job as his assistant, he initially discounts her as far too unqualified and far too female for the job. But the alluring Miss Boxford is more than just an excellent assistant, and there is nothing logical about the way she makes him feel. Still, there is a formula for marriage in the peerage…and marrying a gamekeeper’s daughter is not part of the equation.

When Colin’s father becomes ill, the pressure to take his place in the family – with an appropriate bride and the requisite heirs – mounts. Logically, Kitty is the last woman he should want to marry. But there’s nothing logical about love...

Cheshire 1797 Colin Middleton had returned home after being rejected by the woman he had loved and was prepared to take up his duties. He found his father had not been well and after talking with his mother, knew it was time to marry and seal the future of the dukedom. Wanting only to study science and the stars, he needs someone to help him in his observatory. Kitty Boxford, a gamekeepers daughter needs to earn money in order to enable her plan to find a husband. Kitty finally is hired for the job, but there is more than being his assistant that captures Colin's interest. Disregard the fact that she is not of the same class, it seems his affections become engaged just as her's and when his father continues to fall ill, it may be in the stars to make her his wife? I loved this story as I have all of the books in this series. Michelle Helliwell is a master at pulling the reader in with her stories and not letting go until the end!! Although this can be read as a standalone, trust me, you will want to read each story!!

Lovely!

About the author

The swish of heavy skirts, guys in linen shirts, and moody weather is my happy place. Throw in a pinch of fairy tale inspiration, and you’ve got the mix for my fairy tale inspired historical romances.

I live, work and enjoy life with my husband and two sons in Nova Scotia, Canada where moody weather and bagpipes are plentiful, but alas, guys in puffy shirts are too few.
