Volume 2 of 'One Punch Man' was such a joy to read. Here you get to see two sides of the work/life related coin. A brilliant scientist driven by an evolutionary purpose to a leader whose goal is to live a life without working. And on top of that, you're introduced to characters that are completely on opposite ends of the superpower spectrum. From the insane speed and skill of Speed-O'-Sound Sonic (that's their name) to the overly under qualified Mumen Rider (FYI, Mugen means "no drivers license") Saitama (OPM) is still in a state where he's both bored, feeling ignored and underappreciated by the world he's saved from tremendous threats (as a hobby) while transcending the super hero world plus struggling as a human and the responsibly as a mentor. It's just so entertaining. The humor is still great, and the dynamic illustrations really help to move the story along in a way that it almost feels like watching the show again. Highly recommended.

Rarely does a manga stay so true to its original premise. Saitama is a hero so powerful he can kill any opponent in one punch. Rather than give him a weakness (like kryptonite) or ratchet up the enemies (like with Doomsday), Saitama struggles with the boredom that comes with being too strong. He's just an unassuming guy surrounded by presumptuous and overly dramatic foes. The punches are spectacularly gory. When the action ramps up, turn your device to landscape, if you can, so you can enjoy the spreads.
