About this ebook

Discover the New York Times bestselling series from Jennifer L. Armentrout.

Starting over sucks.

When we moved to West Virginia right before my senior year, I'd pretty much resigned myself to thick accents, dodgy internet access, and a whole lot of boring...until I spotted my hot neighbor, with his looming height and eerie green eyes. Things were looking up.

And then he opened his mouth.

Daemon is infuriating. Arrogant. Stab-worthy. We do not get along. At all. But when a stranger attacks me and Daemon literally freezes time with a wave of his hand, well, something...unexpected happens.

The hot alien living next door marks me.

You heard me. Alien. Turns out Daemon and his sister have a galaxy of enemies wanting to steal their abilities, and Daemon's touch has me lit up like the Vegas Strip. The only way I'm getting out of this alive is by sticking close to Daemon until my alien mojo fades.

If I don't kill him first, that is.

I overall liked the book, and it was a great quick read while staying at the beach. The two main characters did get on my nerves a little but i also fell in love with them by the end of the book. I thought that Katy could be immature and make idiot decisions, but besides that i liked her a lot. Daemen on the other hand, gave me whiplash due to his bipolar personality and him being a jerk, but i also grew into loving his character. So overall i give a 4 star rating, because it was a quick, cute read.

I feel as if it was a bit rushed. The author disregarded most details in the books following the series. Such as weather manipulation, changing as the Luxen's mood would shift. This wasn't mentioned after in any of the later installments. I had no other issues though, people say its wrong and stupid because its masochistic and what not; however that is where i'd disagree, you have to read the ENTIRE series to fully understand why Daemon is such a douche. 😤 As the series develops, so do the characters.

I read the prequel first so I knew most of the characters at least a little already. I loved getting know them more and meeting the new ones. I loved how the ending wasn’t really an ending. I’m looking forward to the next installment.
