Kant’s landmark essay “On Perpetual Peace” is as timely, relevant, and inspiring today as when it was first written over 200 years ago. Brian Orend is a Professor of Philosophy at the University of Waterloo. He is the author of The Morality of War (Broadview), Introduction to International Studies (OUP), and Human Rights: Concept and Context (Broadview).

Ian Johnston is an Emeritus Professor at Vancouver Island University; he has translated numerous works from Greek, French, German, and Latin.
