I must admit I began reading this book because I wanted to check out something my 11 yr old was invited to read by friends. I thought it would be something we could share. After reading for about 30 minutes, I found I was hooked, not just on the book but the series. I finished the book quickly, but it would have been quicker if I didn't have to share it with my son and wife, taking turns. At that point I thought it would be a good story to read to our 4 kids in front of the fireplace at night. Not even my 5 yr old complained, although some parts were pretty intense for a 5 yr old. This is a great book for nurturing an imagination, teaching character, and growing in relationships. I have recommended it to many of my friends and family, and those who have read this book have all continued in the series and have not been let down.
