About this ebook

In this sequel to The Lost Gate, bestselling author Orson Scott Card continues his fantastic tale of the Mages of Westil who live in exile on Earth in The Gate Thief, a novel of the Mither Mages.

Here on Earth, Danny North is still in high school, yet he holds in his heart and mind all the stolen outselves of thirteen centuries of gatemages. The Families still want to kill him if they can't control him...and they can't control him. He is far too powerful.

And on Westil, Wad is now nearly powerless—he lost everything to Danny in their struggle. Even if he can survive the revenge of his enemies, he still must somehow make peace with the Gatemage Daniel North.

For when Danny took that power from Loki, he also took the responsibility for the Great Gates. And when he comes face-to-face with the mages who call themselves Bel and Ishtoreth, he will come to understand just why Loki closed the gates all those centuries ago.

Disappointing ending. After learning of the Authors crun h to turn it over to his publisher, coupled with his admission of it being very late, and his issues of his advanced age, I now realize that I should have researched comments beforehand, saving myself the same disappointed conclusion of having anxiously read a book to an obviously incomplete ending. While my time wasn't a total waist, my money was.

I really got back into reading after I read the Hunger Games trilogy and had a voracious appetite for similar reads after reading Ender Games. I was really impressed with card writing style and read the lost gate in December and have been waiting patiently for this release. After just completing this book I can thoroughly say it just was not as good. Poorly edited, long regurgitated explanation of a metaphysical concept, and an extremely abrubt ending with very little resoltion. Not a fan of this book.

To start this off I really enjoyed the first book and the general direction that it was heading. I bought this immediately after reading the first and the most of the way through the book I really enjoyed it. And then it ended very sudden and not satisfying at all. Then spends a god awful amount of time explaining why he did that. I'll sum it up for you here... I got lazy and wanted it to be done and I stead of making a real ending and making the book later than it already was I'm just going to complain.
