Captivated by the country, the historyand the people, he stayed for almost 15 years working forAboriginal communities and organisations. His writingson the Kimberley include Noonkanbah: Whose Land, Whose Law (1989), thechildren’s novel Barefoot Kids (2007), A Town is Born: The Fitzroy CrossingStory (2013) and The Valley, his first novel for adults.
