About this eBook

Justice will be done. ñDragon Slayer,î the second in our series of free digital comics, chronicles an adventure of OverwatchÍs knight of a bygone age, Reinhardt. An old soul whoÍs spent most of his life on the battlefield, Reinhardt tirelessly continues his noble quest to fight for justice. When Reinhardt comes across a village thatÍs being threatened by a vicious gang known as the Dragons, he picks up his massive hammer and does what any true knight would: protect those who cannot defend themselves. Written by BlizzardÍs own Matt Burns and illustrated by Nesskain (R.U.S.T.), ñReinhardt: Dragon Slayerî is now available to read in full! We hope you enjoy it, and stay tuned for more Overwatch digital comics coming soon!

I want to start with the positives of this story by saying the artwork is bright and enjoyable to look at. The compositions add more emotion to the scenes than the lines. My biggest gripe was with the premise of the plot. I doubt its an intentional piece of copaganda, but the repeated lines that uphold a narrative that assumes communities safety can only be achieved through a funded police force was too much to overlook. It is possible to craft superhero stories without relying on pro cop assumptions. In a series that has such a wide range of moralities/ideologies its a shame this one spent its limited time on this. Hoping the rest of the comics stay away from addressing contemporary issues like this.
