This poem; a petrichor in itself; The fragrance of soil, after the first rains; Soil, which has immense ways of innovation; People who are yet attached to this very soil through their chords; This poem expresses their joys and sorrows in a unique way; Soil which gives humans ‘life’; Human, who shapes his life out of this very soil; This poem casts light on the age-old relation between soil and man; The language that is Marathi, with its many similes and metaphors; This poem reaches the roots of this dialect; The spontaneous reaction of Marathi soil and a Marathi person is this poem; Leaving marks on the soil to indicate the path that will be taken by tomorrow’s Marathi poetry is this poem.

पहिल्या पावसानंतर दरवळणारा मातीचा सुवास देणारी ही कविता. निर्मितिक्षम मातीच्या विविध रूपकला साकार करणारी आणि अशा मातीशी ज्याचे भाळ जखडले गेले आहे, अशा माणसाच्या हर्ष-खेदाची कहाणी सांगणारी ही कविता.माणसाला जीवन देणारी माती आणि मातीतून स्वतःला घडविणारा माणूस, यांच्यातील आदिम, सनातन नात्याचा शोध घेणारी ही कविता.‘मNहाटी’शब्दाच्या आणि छंदाच्या मराठी जमिनीत खोलवर पसरलेल्या मुळांचा मागोवा घेणारी, त्यांना नवनवे धुमारे फोडणारी ही कविता.मराठी माती आणि माणूस यांचा उत्स्पूâर्त हुंकार म्हणजे ही कविता.उद्याची मराठी कविता कशी असेल याच्या पाऊलखुणा उमटविणारी ही कविता.
