Henry is a swoony, marshmallow alpha and I just loved his character and how it played off of Everleigh’s independent streak. The build up to their romance was excellent and they have great banter. The story did drag for me toward the end but overall this is a great continuation of the GHOST romances. It can absolutely be read as a stand alone!

When the situation with the renegade mountain dwellers gets out of control, negotiator Everleigh Hayes is called in to broker a peace deal. Having been raised as an army brat, Everleigh has no roots, close family, or hobbies outside of her work. Meeting Henry Delany and his family as well as those he refers to as his extended family, Everleigh realizes for the first time just what she is missing in her life.

Being Kentucky born and raised, I'm usually quick to pick up books by Kentucky authors or with a Kentucky setting. Yet, somehow, PJ Fiala escaped my notice. Until now! Protecting Everleigh gave me a taste of Fiala's talent, and my TBR just got a whole lot bigger. I'm from a small town and now live in an even smaller town, and this may be a work of fiction, but the characters and their motivations feel real. So many of the people of Glen Hollow feel like neighbors I'd run into.
