About the author

Dr. Karuna Mehta retired as an Associate Professor of Psychology from Delhi University, Zakir Husain Delhi College, where she taught for over 40 years. She received her BA and MA in Psychology (1975) and PhD in Experimental Psychology from Delhi University (1988). Her areas of interest include educational psychology, counselling psychology, social psychology, and experimental psychology. She received research fellowships from UGC and ICSSR for projects in the field of “Information Processing.” She also participated in various international and national conferences and presented papers. Dr. Mehta has delivered lectures on the importance of psychological health to senior schoolteachers and participated in parent-teacher meetings to help focus on the academic performance and psychological well-being of students. She was also invited by the Delhi Police Training College and HDFC Bank to speak with their staff on topics such as job satisfaction, health and information processing. She has always been passionate about teaching and counselling college students. During her teaching career, she guided PhD students and supervised over 60 undergraduate research projects on topics ranging from academic achievement to mental health. Even after retirement, she continues to work for students. Through this book, she aspires to help students improve academically and personally. One of her objectives is to remove the stigma attached to seeking professional help from psychologists. She continues to visit various educational institutions with the aim to increase awareness about the importance of psychological health.
