Walaupun sudah banyak buku tentang Hukum Perdata yang telah beredar di Indonesia pada saat ini, namun masih saja dirasakan adanya kekurangan-kekurangan. Hal ini mengingat bahwa Hukum Perdata yang berlaku di Indonesia ini masih pluralisti dan sangat luas cakupannya serta undang-undang yang mengaturnya pun sangat beraneka ragam, walaupun telah ada kodifikasi dalam Kitab Undang-undang Hukum Perdata (KUHPer). Untuk itulah penulis berusaha menyusun sebuah buku yang sederhana, singkat, praktis dan sistematis, agar dapat dengan mudah dipelajari dan dipahami oleh para mahasiswa serta masyarakat luas yang berminat terhadap Hukum Perdata di Indonesia.
