Even the most dedicated scientist has to obey the calling of nature to procreate. A throw-away remark about having children but not wanting to carry them entices Kate and she jumps at the chance to experience pregnancy as a surrogate mother. It was an impulsive decision and one she quickly comes to realise is going leave to her holding the baby! The obvious solution is to contact the male donor of the implanted embryo, but she discovers that he’s not too keen on being sucked into his ex-wife’s chicanery. However, Morgan isn’t immune to that same call of nature and knowing that Kate is carrying his child, he cannot stay away from her. Neither Morgan nor Kate want the complications of a relationship, and in their very adult, calculated way they decide the way forward, only to be confronted by the fine print in Kate’s surrogacy contract. This is a well written romance, one that brings so much more to the table than guy meets girl and falls in love. Once I started reading I was unable to put the book down. I found myself relating to the main characters and wanted to cheer them on, even when their world began to crumble around them. Descriptions of life on Kate’s island were fascinating and there were numerous laugh out loud moments throughout the book. The story is a standalone and I was so glad when the characters finally got their heads back on straight! I received this book for free from eBook Discovery. I voluntarily post this review.
