Where was the editor? Entire chapters devoted to dinner parties and verbose descriptions of mundane aspects that do nothing to serve or advance the narrative. Not a single story line was concluded. After so much of my time consumed I care so little for the characters that whatever fate they meet is less important than what I choose for breakfast tomorrow. Probably the most disappointing read of my life.

This book is very disjointed and hard to follow. I'm about a hundred pages in and the author has already jumped around a half dozen times. At times it becomes very interesting but then suddenly jumps to another location and more characters. I have a feeling I'm not going to get through the 1000 plus pages.

leaves nothing to the readers imagination by being to descriptive and detailed about everything in the book. finally caught my self skipping and jumping whole pages. managed 25% before i threw it out to find something else to read.
