Traditional fairy tales are often too long, too gruesome or otherwise
unsuitable as a bedtime story.

In KidSlumber stories no-one dies, no
child is abandoned by its parents, nor are the stories saccharine or babyish.

The stories are intended to be enjoyable for both the child and the reader and certainly not a chore for the reader.

Each story takes about 10-12 minutes to read and has humor, rhyme and
usually a moral. The stories are written for the children of today, not
past centuries.

For children 5-10+ years.

Approximately 40,000 words.

About the author

Being a busy parent (who happens to be a writer), Pat needed bedtime stories that were short, suitable, available instantly and without the old stereotypes or scary themes. When such stories could not be found it was time to reach for some fresh parchment and start writing. There are now two volumes of KidSlumber Bedtime Stories that are popular all over the world.

"The ending if this book was incredible - I did not see that coming at all!!! ONE SENTENCE: Definitely worth a read."-- Worm's Magical Library of Books Blog

"As a Montessori Adolescent Guide, I looked for books like this for my students. This is a great adolescent read!"

"This journey is about discovering ones own abilities and strengths,
learning to trust your instincts, and the depth of love constantly
shimmering between Ana and Chance. An excellent follow up from the first
book, I look forward to reading book three of The Shapeshifter Chronicles." -- Author Amy Manemann

The adventure continues for Chance and Ana in book 2 of The Shapeshifter Chronicles

Book Description:

In Clark Bend, Idaho, Chance Morgan's dreams are haunted by the last moments shared with his grandfather. Memories of the fateful day when he died plague his thoughts, and without his grandfather's council, his shapeshifting powers mysteriously fail him. Desperate to seek out a new mentor and learn more about the mystical world he was sheltered from, Chance must travel far from home to hunt for answers.

Eighteen-year-old, Ana Hughes has only known Chance for a few months, but he quickly found his way into her heart. Since being rescued from Chance's power-hungry cousin, and coming back from death, Ana is unwilling to leave his side, and joins him on his quest to the Yucatan in search of a new mentor.

When Chance's memories fall into place and reveal a threat from their past, Chance and Ana must fight to survive - or die trying.
