That's not necessarily a bad thing. The set up is unremarkable, but I wanted to continue reading. I'm certainly not the target market, but I found it inoffensive and charming, if a little predictable. My twelve-year-old self would have devoured a story like this. Would totally work as the premise for a TV series.

If you are going to offer a "book" then make it a book, not just a few pages - If that's all it is then say so and we can ignore it as useless

Twenty pages of semi-decent artwork and a cliche feeling narrative without any real resolution at the end. Total cliff hanger they just want you to buy the next one.
