About this ebook

When the peaceful Amish community of Bountiful, Pennsylvania, is rocked by scandal, the three Yoder siblings must each find their path to love, family, and forgiveness . . .

Waking in the hospital after a car accident, Lovina Yoder doesn’t remember the Amish family who claim her as their own—or the man who says he’s her fiancé. Thoughtful and handsome, Johannes Miller clearly cares for her, and Lovina longs to recall the walks and buggy rides he describes, and the plans they once made. Life in the Amish community seems full of joy, faith, and warmth. And yet, Lovina senses there is something more in her past, just beyond her grasp . . .

Gott has answered Johannes’ prayer to bring Lovina back—but not quite as he hoped. A year ago, she ran away to the Englisher world, unable to face the community after her daet’s misdeeds. Her family hopes that Lovina can rediscover her Amish heart before those painful recollections return. Johannes loves her as deeply as ever, but if she walked away once, will she leave again, taking his dream of home and family with her? Or will the new memories they are making together, day by day, convince her that this Bountiful future is Gott’s plan for them both?

Loving Lovina by Patricia Johns is the third book in The Infamous Amish series. I recommend reading the books in order or at least reading The Preacher’s Daughter before embarking on Loving Lovina. Loving Lovina picks up where The Preacher’s Daughter ended. I thought Loving Lovina was an easy-to-read story. I was immediately drawn into the story. I was curious to see how Lovina’s tale would turn out. I also wanted to learn what would happen with Savilla, the widow with two girls as well as Johannes. I thought Loving Lovina was well-written with mixed pacing (the pacing varies throughout the book). There is repetition of details in the story. Some of the repetition is because of the alternating viewpoints. The story is told in Lovina and Johannes’ point of view. I thought the characters were relatable and realistic. I cannot imagine losing your memory. You cannot remember who you are or what you have been doing. You have to rely on what others are telling you. Her family and Johannes are trying to protect Lovina plus they never want her to leave again. Loving Lovina is an emotional story. Lovina is struggling with her emotions and so is Johannes. Johannes loves Lovina but he is also afraid of getting his heart broken again. I really felt for Savilla who is a kind woman who wants to do what is best for herself and her two little girls. I loved Daniel’s storyline. Daniel is Johannes’ nephew who is currently staying with Johannes and his father. I thought it was wonderful that this teen was determined to follow his own path. I liked the creative solution he comes up with to help his mother and himself. I was glad that Daniel did not cave to the pressure from his family. I like how honesty ended up being the best solution in many cases. There are times when it is best to fudge the truth especially when it will hurt someone’s feelings. But, the majority of the time, honesty is the best policy. Loving Lovina is a sweet story with family, friendship, faith, and love. I hope that this is not the end of The Infamous Amish series. Loving Lovina is a poignant Amish tale with missing memories, a lost love, a fretful family, a creative teen, rampant rumors, an offender father, a wise widow, and a cheerful conclusion.

A Heartfelt and Inspirational Story As a result of an accident, Lovina Yoder is now suffering from a case of amnesia. Therefore, she doesn't remember her family, the scandal involving her family, leaving her Amish home for the Englisher world, and she definitely doesn't remember her "fiancé," Johannes Miller. As Lovina rejoins her family she works toward discovering who she is and putting the pieces of her memory back together. All the while, Johannes remains by her side where part of him wants her to remember, and the other part of him is afraid that she will. I was completely drawn into this story from the very beginning. I felt so much of Lovina's struggle and pain as she strived to get the pieces of her memory back. I also felt Johannes' struggle as he toggled between his love for Lovina and his pain at the thought that she might leave again. And I was especially moved by how deep Johannes' love for Lovina was and the impact it had on how much he was willing to help her, do for her and sacrifice for her. Loving Lovina is a wonderful heartfelt and inspiring story of love, forgiveness, and faith. The story's pacing and details are just perfect in that they keep you drawn into the story and keep you guessing up to the very end as to how everything will come together. Author Patricia Johns has also done a fantastic job of pulling you into the story by making you feel totally connected to the characters as far as what they're feeling, what they're struggling with, and so much more. All of this is a perfect combination that makes this a wonderful story that I highly recommend. Book Quote: Gott, where do I belong? she prayed in her heart. Where am I supposed to live my life? *****I received a copy of this book from Kensington Books via NetGalley. All comments and opinions are strictly my own.

I hadn't read the previous two books, in fact, I wasn't aware that there were other books to this series until I started this review. So I can honestly say that I was not confused by something I may have missed in the earlier books, I started out "fresh" so to speak and had no issues with that and totally was engaged from the beginning till the end. Knowing someone personally who had amnesia from an accident, I could understand the situation as well as Lovina's feelings as the story progressed. Slowly Lovina remembers but how will those memories affect her personally and in her family and friend relationships? This book was very good and realistic. It did not portray a perfect family or those whose life was carefree. I recommend this very engaging story whether you have read the previous books or not. I received a complimentary ebook from the publisher and NetGalley. All thoughts are my own.
