I don't even know if torcherous is a word. I'm going to go with, it isn't. But this book had me hooked from the very beginning. It was vastly imaginative and incorporated the legend of The People of the Mounds well. I will tell you, reader, that this book is not for the faint of heart. Many of the descriptions are cringe worthy and never have I wanted a fictional character's suffering to end as much as while I was reading this. I needed to know how the story ended. Don't pass this one up! Fantastic novel!
