I loved these books when I was in elementary and middle school, and when I saw that this was going to be made 10 years later, I couldn't not get it. I relistened to the other books over the past 2 weeks, refreshed so many times today (release day) and was able to listen to the book in one go. I was pleased to see the writing style and characters stay very true to the original source material. While the stakes are much lower for this book than the other "Percy Jackson and The Olympians" and "Heroes of Olympus" books, it's still a good story and maybe a well deserved change of pace for our protagonist. one thing I wish we could've had is some time at Camp Half Blood/Jupiter and some interaction with other legacy characters. Leo, Nico, and Tyson were always some of my favorite characters and am a little sad they weren't featured at all. Still, I overall loved this reboot to a childhood favorite and the nostalgic nerve it struck in me, along with the allusion to nostalgia in the book.

UNCLE RICK- I have one problem with the book; It's too short!!! I just want to keep reading all the adventures of Percy Jackson!! All right, onto the actual review: For those who want to read/listen to in in time-line order, this happens before Trials of Apollo (since in one of the first chapters, Sally is 7 months along) This book is amazing. Lower stakes for Percy, but a lot just for a piece of paper, lol. But then again anyone who is immortal hates him before they even hear his name, lol. Except maybe Apollo or Athena. Athena puts up with him for Annabeth, and Apollo... doesn't understand how much work demigods put in... (I recommend reading Trials of Apollo after the 7th, and hopefully 8th book comes out, so that way, it makes more sense)

How Rick maintains Percy's reality while aging him up is pretty incredible for as big as his landscape has matured over time. He is still Percy Jackson, but now he thinks, reacts, and, talks like a teenager. The quests are still action packed with all sorts of interesting characters.
