About this ebook

Jeffrey Cooper, a powerful design star, in the last quarter of the 21st century has struck a Faustian bargain with the global marketing system that runs the world: it will keep him young and razar-sharp competitive as long as he can make money for it, and not succumb to the global epidemic of stress. His German therapist has told him that there are "angels," or agents, who can help him and keep him safe and calm, even if their identities are often secret. One such "angel" arrives in his life in a young, violence prone man who will give Jeffrey back the soul he has lost to the system. "In 'Carnal Sacraments,' Perry Brass has created a parable of our time and the future, of the all-swallowing global economy, of an emerging international business culture based on war, and of intense sexuality as a key to religious experience and personal salvation. Author of 'The Harvest,' 'Warlock,' 'Angel Lust,' and 'The Substance of God,' Brass continues his exploration of the joining of sexuality, consciousness, and spirituality in this poignant and mature novel."
