'Peter' is book two in Kathi S. Barton's "Archer's Dynasty" series and let me reiterate, this series does not mention any kind of paranormal beings. Peter is one of four attorneys in the family but he is the main one that handles their affairs. The family becomes involved in a situation when Judy Grey, one of their employees, asked them to contact her sister-in-law, Heather Grey, to let them know her brother had died. The entire conversation between Merce and Heather quickly becomes confusing. Apparently, there are two Heathers in the Grey family and Merce was speaking to the wrong one. When things were eventually put on the right track Heather retorted, in no uncertain terms, she wasn't buying anything, wasn't interested in anything to do with her brother or sister-in-law, and she had enough on her plate until Merce told her that Judy was pregnant with her brother's child. Heather's tune immediately changed and she informed Merce she would be there within the next few days. In the meantime, Merce was to put a hold on the insurance policy as Judy was lying and hung up. In true Ms. Barton's style, there are a few crazy and deranged family members that need to be dealt with and there's always at least one family member that steals the show. In this case, it's Hey Hey and you'll agree when you read this delightful story. I can't wait to see what happens between Robert and his doctor next.
