Acerca deste livro eletrónico

This translated edition of Petting Farm Fun is printed in Portuguese.  It is the third release in the popular Hood Picture Book Series.  It is a delightful bedtime story to entertain and then relax young children before they fall asleep.

The tradition of the bedtime story has been around since before the written word. For generations, and in every culture, parents have prepared their children for bed by telling them stories.

Karen Jean Matsko Hood is a prolific author and poet that loves children and animals. It is only fitting that she would write and direct the art of this delightful petting farm story.

Her family has raised Nubian goats, fainting goats, Babydoll Southdown sheep, Icelandic sheep, Icelandic horses, and other petting animals as she knows this is a valuable experience for children.  The author and her family also have first hand experience raising chickens, turkeys, ducks, and geese for organic eggs.  Her children have actively worked on the goat dairy farm to milk goats for organic milk.  All this inspired her to write this book.

Petting Farm Fun makes an enjoyable story for readers of all ages as well as those who love animals and have an appreciation for nature and farm life.  This book also makes a great gift to share with others.

Acerca do autor

Karen Jean Matsko Hood began writing as a shy author, but has now developed a voice that is all her own.  Hood exhibits a unique story as well as a voice of empathy and purpose. Hood's writing is strong-minded. She is a meticulous wordsmith and combines stories with compassion. Hood has always loved children and is devoted to the needs of children. It is only natural that she would channel her efforts to include children's books and poetry. Hood reminds us of the importance of our links with nature and environment in our daily lives. Her writing carries the urgency and outrage of the current social injustice and inequality. The recurring theme in Hood's work is to provide a voice for those whose struggle cannot be heard. Hood's writing brings poignancy to the most hopeless of situations. She is romantic in her vision for a quest for dignity and social justice. Hood also writes about personal and spiritual themes. She is passionate both as a feminist and as an active children's rights advocate. Hood also works to encourage literacy for all ages. Her blend of traditionalism and modernism brings a current freshness and uniqueness to her own poetic voice. She is versatile in her writing style and is able to incorporate a wide range of themes and topics. Her poems have been published in a myriad of magazines and publications.  Karen was born and raised in Great Falls, Montana. In May 2001, she completed her Master's Degree in Pastoral Ministry at Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington.  Hood is working on research projects to complete her Ph.D. in Leadership Studies at Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington.  She resides in Spokane, Washington, along with her husband, many of her sixteen children, and foster children. Her hobbies include cooking, baking, collecting, photography, indoor and outdoor gardening, farming, and the cultivation of unusual flowering plants and orchids.
