It was a cold and dreary day when little Johnny's grandmother passed away. She had been his best friend, always there to listen to his stories and play games with him. The day before she died, she gave him an old antique phone and told him to keep it by his bedside in case he ever needed to reach her.

After her funeral, Johnny placed the phone on his nightstand, just as his grandmother had instructed. That night, as he lay in bed, he heard a faint ringing coming from the phone. He picked it up and to his astonishment, he heard his grandmother's voice on the other end.

"Johnny, is that you?" she whispered.

Johnny's heart raced with fear. "Grandma, is that really you?" he asked.

"Yes, my dear. I'm still here with you, watching over you," his grandmother replied.

The next morning, Johnny told his parents about the phone call, but they just laughed it off as his imagination. But as the days passed, the calls from his grandmother became more frequent, and even his parents began to hear her voice on the line.

After his parents reassured him that there was no way it was his grandmother and just a prank phone call to try and scare him. Knowing it was a sick way to prank him just as he had just lost his grandmother recently. It happened and there was no way to change anything. Johnny just accepted his parents' answer and left it at that.
