About this ebook

I want to.

I can’t.

I’ve been friends with Cooper Rice from the moment we met. He was just as famous a decade ago on our college campus as he is now being the star quarterback for the Chicago Grizzlies.

But he’s not only talented on the field, he’s also the gorgeous football star women fawn over, posing in underwear and razor ads.

Here’s a secret those women don’t know—Cooper Rice isn’t a playboy. He’s the kind of man who wants to settle down with a family. He’s content ordering pizza and massaging my feet after my long shift as an emergency room doctor. He listens to me as if he’s as invested as I am in my patients. He has never let me down.

This is exactly why I refuse to live without Cooper in my life. Eight years ago, I made him promise me that we’d never cross that line. And just like I knew Cooper would, he’s held to that promise.

Despite our best efforts, our relationship is evolving, shifting into new territory and I find myself unsure if I want Cooper to keep that promise. Ignoring the obvious could tear us apart, but so could giving in, meaning there’s a chance I’ll lose Cooper forever no matter what decision I make.

Cooper & Ellery met in college & were inseparable, they just completed each other. One night 8 years ago, they agreed to never cross that line. 8 years later, Cooper & Ellery couldn’t see past that promise. But they discovered that they are so much more with underlying desires. I loved that their friend group intervened to help them find their way back to each other. The banter between all of them was epic. Getting glimpses of Damien & Adeline with baby Clover & also of Miles & Bryce were bonus!

Piper Rayne is an excellent writing duo team. They write well with great storylines and easy to like characters. I have been waiting for this book and I was not disappointed. I laughed and frowned, holding my breath at times. I love the best friend to lovers trope. I could not read it fast enough, smiling at the end. The world they have created has been easy to become invested in and I hate to see it end. Yet at the same time, I'm giddy to read what comes next.

Friends to lovers is a beautiful trope and Piper Rayne delivered a more than perfect one in Something Like Love. Ellery and Cooper's emotional rollercoaster has everything that makes me swoon and fall hard! The sweet connection and easy bonding of two best friends. The slow build up of Something more potent and breathtaking beyond just friendship. The tension and the angst of the road from friendship to love. Something Like Love has everything and then some more. Like the amazing bromance and found family. Like the right kind of adrenaline rush of sports romance. I cannot get enough of this story. I reviewed an early copy voluntarily
