This book provides a model for organizing the Christian education leadership committee or team of the church, demonstrates how to use the church year as a framework for planning the Christian education ministry of the church, and gives a model for assessing the effectiveness of the educational ministry of the church and a process to help congregations move toward the Christian Education Formation approach.

Marty Canaday is the Minister of Discipleship at Bethany United Methodist Church in Summerville, SC and has over thirty years of educational experience in local congregations, serving churches in Georgia, South Carolina, and Virginia. Over the years he has provided workshop and conference leadership in the area of church growth, leadership development, and spiritual formation. Israel Galindo is an educator with experience in both local church and formal academic settings. Currently, Galindo is Dean and Professor of Christian Education at the Baptist Theological Seminary at Richmond where he is engaged in the study of congregations and congregational leadership. He formerly served as the resident educator at the Vienna Baptist Church near Washington, D.C.
