(Seudónimo de Cecilia Böhl de Faber; Morge, España, 1796 - Sevilla, 1877) Escritora española que cultivó un pintoresquismo de carácter costumbrista y cuya obra se distingue por la defensa de las virtudes tradicionales, la monarquía y el catolicismo. Descendiente del hispanista Juan Nicolás Böhl de Faber, su vida se desarrolló siempre entre ambientes y círculos aristocráticos. Se casó tres veces, y durante su segundo matrimonio fijó su residencia en Dos Hermanas (Sevilla), de cuya tradición oral tomó cuentos y anécdotas populares. El éxito de La gaviota (1849) y de otros textos posteriores le abrió las puertas a las colaboraciones periodísticas y alivió hasta cierto punto las penurias que hubo de padecer tras el suicidio de su tercer marido.
