Gilly Salmon is Professor of E-learning and Learning Technologies at the University of Leicester, UK. She heads the Beyond Distance Research Alliance and the Media Zoo (www.le.ac.uk/beyonddistance).

Palitha Edirisingha is Lecturer in E-Learning at the Beyond Distance Research Alliance, University of Leicester, UK. His research interests include mobile technologies, Web 2.0 applications and learning technologies in developing countries.
