Once again Sawyer Bennett gives us a wonderful opportunity to escape to the slow southern charms of Whynot,North Carolina. This book is about Colt Mancinkus and Darby Cuhane,a new transplant coming with her 7 year old daughter, to reside on Farmington Farms where her plans are to establish a peach orchard and obtain an agricultural grant to secure the means of her doctorate thesis in agricultural science. Unfortunately Colt desperately needs that same grant to save his families farm.So begins the rough start of this relationship mixed in with the delightful townspeople who are the soup to nuts background of the entire series. This town could lay claim on the phrase "Heard it thru the Grapevine",and claim the said song as their own.Loved the exchange between the two dart teams at Chesty's.I won't share more,cause I like to be immersed without too much information,and while this story may stand alone,I'm always happier starting with the first book and reading in order.Now I'm torn between foreseeable joy of the last Mancinkus sibling finally having her happy ever after,and the realization that the next book will be the last.Thanks again Sawyer Bennett for a very satisfying story. This is farmer Colt Mancinkus, and Darby McCulhane’s story line. PRETTY AS A PEACH can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary. Told from dual first person perspectives (Darby and Colt) PRETTY AS A PEACH follows the building relationship between Whynot farmer Colt Mancinkus, and newcomer Darby McCulhane. Working on her PhD in agronomy, Darby McCulhane, and her seven year old daughter head to Whynot, North Carolina to take over Farrington Farms, a farming operation her former brother-in -law Jake has offered in return for a brand new start, but securing one of the rare farming grants from the Department of Agriculture comes with competition. Enter life-long resident and family farmer Colt Mancinkus, who has plans to open a winery with his share of the government grant. What ensues is the building relationship and romance between Colt and Darby, and the potential fall-out when Darby’s soon to be ex-husband comes into town. Colt’s attraction to Darby is immediate but tempered by the knowledge that the newcomer in town is his only competition for the government grant. Hoping to save the family farm Colt is desperate to push forward with his plans to open up a winery on the family lands. Darby McCulhane needed to escape her emotionally abusive husband when her ex-brother in law Jake offered her the position of Operations Manager of Farrington Farms in Whynot, North Carolina-a position she hopes to use towards her PhD. The relationship between Darby and Colt is one of immediate attraction but Darby is a single mother of an angry seven year old girl who has a difficult time adjusting to her new home. Never one to give up, Colt takes Darby’s daughter Linnie under his wing, in an effort to begin a relationship with our story line heroine. Most of the previous story line couples and characters play secondary and supporting roles including Laken and Jake ;Laken’s twin sister Larkin; Lowe and Melinda; Trixie and the ever absent Ryland Powers, as well as grandfather Pap Mancinkus; Colt’s parents Catherine and Gerry Mancinkus; Darby’s daughter Linnie, and her ex-husband Mitch; and the ever present townies including Floyd and his ever present rifle, and Melinda’s BFF Morri D. We are quickly introduced to Deacon Locke who may or may not have a passing interest in Larkin Mancinkus. PRETTY AS A PEACH is a clean romance with no $ex, limited kissing, and no physical contact. The premise is sweet and charming; the characters are sassy and smart. PRETTY AS A PEACH is a playful and tender love story by Juliette Poe.

5 Star Review of Pretty As A Peach by Juliette Poe (Sex & Sweet Tea #4) This was a fun, quick read full of romance, laughter and love of family. This is Colt Mancinkus and Darby Culhane’s story and I loved it from start to finish. Ms. Poe describes Whynot in such great detail that I would love to visit. I love the idea of a small town where everyone knows you, although I am sure not everyone would appreciate that. Colt is prepared to do whatever it takes to keep his family’s legacy, Mainer Farms safe and intact whilst all Darby is looking for is a fresh start. What could be more simple that that? When Darby applies for a rural county grant she finds herself in conflict with the all to appealing Colt. After confronting Darby and explaining the importance of him being rewarded the grant, Darby decides to withdraw. However Colt is a Mancinkus and he feel that he should help Darby, particularly after meeting her daughter Linnie. When circumstances bring Colt and Darby together, sparks will fly and temptation will be strong. They soon form a strong friendship, but will that be all it is? Linnie wants her family back together but Darby is determined that her ex remain just that and with the help and support of the Mancinkus family, she and Linnie will find the happiness that they so richly deserve. Colt’s grandfather Pap is a great secondary character and I hope he actually gets his own story. In fact, all the characters made me smile and I cannot wait until we visit Whynot, North Carolina again as I am anxious to see who will be next in the series.
