Jessica rushes to help her father only to realize she was lured in by a dangerous adversary one that could steal her very soul and the outcome will decide the path of everyone involved in this fast and furious urban fantasy romance. Jessica arrives back from the Underworld after having angered the Hags of Fate, only to land right back in the middle of danger and chaos as she rushes to help her father and the reader can’t help but get caught up in all the pulse pounding action and excitement as they try to stay alive long enough to fight Jessica’s newest adversary, her creator. The action is non-stop as Jessica and her crew fight their way through a gauntlet of dangerous battles including alligators, pythons, black magic, ghouls and wendigoes from beginning to end and did I mention runaway planes and vans…hmmm, oh well you get the idea. Jessica doesn’t have much time to take a breath much less get some one on one time with Rourke, who is frustrated with all the danger directed at his mate. This story is obviously fast paced and it flows smoothly from one scene to the next keeping readers on the edge of their seats with lots suspense and excitement and the strong compelling characters grab a hold of the reader’s attention and refuse to let go. The scenes are well written with vivid details that capture the imagination bringing the fascinating world to life and the well planned events draw the readers in and ensure they can’t put the book down until they have read every last word. I was completely caught up in this story from beginning to end and I have to say that I have definitely found a new series to love – yes, that means that I have not read the previous books in this series and while I do feel as if I missed some very important action, I had no trouble picking up the story and getting lots of spine tingling thrills from this one.
