Within each person is a vis medicatrix naturae, natural healing power, that can be detected and cooperated with. As therapists, we do not create the experience of excellence that is possible within a client, rather, we learn to cooperate with the resources already in existence within the person. By cooperating with the client's model of the world, we provide the internal and external conditions most favorable to the individual using their own self-regulative and restorative powers.
