Not my favorite of the series. Although nothing really wrong with the book, I just couldn't connect with the characters. While Hawk is definitely one hot alpha male, his control freak tendencies are a bit off-putting. Dawn just annoyed me. The fact that she thinks she can handle a drug lord on her own was just laughable.

Dawn Freeze is all grown up and her sweet sexiness is just what Hawk craves but with everyone he loves in danger he’ll have to stay away in this exciting contemporary romance. Dawn has had a crush on Hawk Rain for years and if all she can have is a week then that’s what she’ll take and the reader can’t help but get caught up in this romance as Hawk learns that some fights just aren’t meant to be won. The chemistry between Dawn and Hawk sizzles from the pages and sparks fly with every heated clash as independent meets bossy but the relationship is hampered by a couple of issues….Dawn’s brother is his best friend and well his life is too dangerous for her. The fast paced, smooth flowing plot keeps anticipation flowing with lots of suspense, excitement and romance while these strong compelling characters draw the reader right in and refuse to let go. Expectations build throughout the story as the danger gets closer which has Hawk and his friends on high alert and causes Hawk to try to push Dawn even further away. Humorous dialogue and cute scenes, some courtesy of a couple of matchmaking older ladies that are just too much, add quite a few chuckles and I have to say I found myself smiling just about constantly during this romance. Well written scenes and details paint vivid images and bring the story to life and the engaging events have things happening continuously and therefore ensure that the reader doesn’t want to put the book down. I was completely enthralled by the story and charmed by the characters - who would have thought that independent meeting bossy could be so much fun as well as passionate. I have to say that this is the first book that I have read in this series but it won’t be the last as I fell for quite a few of these sexy mavericks.

I'm only at Chapter 17, but had to write my review now. I am in love with the entire series, but I think this book is my favorite. Chapter 16 literally had me bent over, laughing hard. Just love the great dialogue and interactions with the whole townfolk.
