I felt it was over ambitious in scope, and the development of the global crisis was poorly realised - the scale of the individuals' stories jarred against the global events that seemed to be occurring at the same time.

A good read. A bit different to their previous novels, but still some great insights into now by looking just a little ahead.

i tried to care about the characters but i gave up around page 150.

Kim Stanley Robinson is a New York Times bestseller and winner of the Hugo, Nebula and Locus awards. He is the author of more than twenty books, including the bestselling Mars trilogy, 2312, Aurora and New York 2140. In 2008 he was named a 'Hero of the Environment' by Time magazine, and he works with the Sierra Nevada research institute. He lives in Davis, California.
