Dean Monet was born in Birmingham, England in 1967. He is the last of seven children born to a supermarket supervisor mother, and a ex-paratrooper father. Dean attended the local comprehensive school where at the age of sixteen wrote his first play, 'The Hospital Visitor', the success of which was followed by two further plays; 'To Be Or Not To Be...An Actress', and 'The Stuffing from The Pig'. Dean has acted on Television and on stage. In 1988 Dean moved to London, where he worked as a residential child care worker, and studied Child Protection at the University of East London, moving back to his home town of Birmingham at the beginning of the 90's, he studied counselling at the Solihull college. Dean still lives in Birmingham with his partner of twenty years, William John-James. He is currently working on two further novels, one being a sequel to Reign On Cloud Nine.
