Kanada ist ein nordamerikanischer Staat, der zwischen dem Atlantik und dem Pazifik liegt und bis zum Arktischen Ozean reicht. Kanada ist nach Russland der zweitgrößte Staat der Welt und hat eine Bevölkerung von etwa 37 Millionen Menschen. Kanada wurde ursprünglich von den First Nations und den Inuit bewohnt, die später von europäischen Kolonisten abgelöst wurden. Heute ist Kanada eine föderale parlamentarische Monarchie mit zwei Amtssprachen: Englisch und Französisch. Kanada ist reich an natürlichen Ressourcen wie Wasser, Erdöl, Erdgas, Fisch und Holz. Kanada ist auch bekannt für seine landschaftliche Vielfalt, die von den Appalachen im Osten über die Prärien im Zentrum bis zu den Rocky Mountains im Westen reicht. Kanada ist ein Mitglied des Commonwealth of Nations und hat enge Beziehungen zu den Vereinigten Staaten, seinem südlichen Nachbarn.
