It was a fun fast read. I like it how the city boy turned from thinking they were just a bunch of backwoods people into thinking they were not so bad after all. Plus the story was great. Reluctant Bumpkin by Sam Cheever is an awesome story to read. This is book number six in this awesome series that I have really loved reading and can not wait to see what this author will write next. I highly recommend this awesome story to everyone who loves reading about cozy mysteries and small town romance. Hal's parents dump Asher off at Joey's house due to him being involved in a girl's death back home. Asher isn't overly impressed being in this 'hick' town until he meets Amethyst, Ame for short. They hang out together which is okay as Lis, Ame's aunt is Joey's best friend. But when they go to a party and a girl is found dead, seems that trouble has followed Asher. Also, Joey was attacked by someone on her own property and Medford warns her that Asher may not be safe in Deer Hollow. Things get pretty intense, but I wasn't even thinking who the bad guy was until it was revealed in the story! I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book from Booksprout.
