Jewel Winters, a 24-year-old single mother, has had her fair share of trials and tribulations. Since childhood, she's had to battle with her verbally abusive, alcoholic mother. Latrese N. Carter is a native of Baltimore, Maryland. She graduated from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore with a B.S. in criminal justice, and has a master’s degree in special education from Coppin State University.
