With the cover art and everything, you'd think it's a dialogue heavy, heartburn inducing story about torn love and misunderstandings... but there was none of that at all. there was barely any interaction between Slowe and Alicia throughout the entire book. I mean even though it was supposed to be a volume centered around Alicia and her love life, she only had like 20 or so lines in the entire book, and we didn't even get a single paragraph from her perspective... It seems despite the author's numerous hints and actual revelations within her inner thoughts, Alicia has no lingering attachment or desire to be with Slowe at all. Even though the author likes writing her every interaction as conflicted, she brazenly and without hesitation pushes forward to do everything she can to annul the engagement. This book is just an action packed dungeon crawler with near zero romantic elements.

I would say you can almost skip this volume. I love the series but not when nothing happens to advance the story. Have to say this is the worst of the novels. Will be reading the next though
