Preparations by antiwar groups for the demonstration are outlined, as well as preparations by the various Washington police agencies. The major events of the counter-inaugural protests are related. Due to restraint and good faith on the part of law enforcement officers and the majority of the demonstrators, violence was kept to a minimum.
